Ramy is Managing Director, Business Management & Operations at Connor, Clark & Lunn Private Capital Ltd. He is responsible for business and operational management of the firm. Ramy works with Jeff Guise, Managing Director, and Catherine Dorazio, Managing Director, Business Development, to set the company’s strategic direction.
Ramy has over twelve years of experience in the financial industry. Before joining CC&L Private Capital, he spent seven years working for Scotiabank. He initially led strategy including personal, commercial and wealth management before moving to Tangerine for five years as Chief Financial Officer and latterly Senior Vice President, Retail Banking. Ramy has also worked for McKinsey & Company in Canada and Egypt and Alcatel-Lucent in Egypt, Greece, and France.
After being awarded a B.Sc. in electrical engineering from Cairo University, Ramy undertook the study of Masters courses at the same institution. He completed McKinsey & Company’s MBA program and received Top 100 Magazine’s Top 100 People in Finance (2020) award. Ramy volunteers on the board of directors of many charitable Canadian organizations, including Junior Achievers Ontario Central and Land of Hope.
Ramy likes spending time with his wife and three daughters and playing soccer and squash in his free time.
