Mike joined CC&L Private Capital in 2003 and has worked in the investment management industry for over 20 years. His prior work experience includes Mackenzie Financial Corporation, CIBC Securities Inc. and Procter & Gamble Inc. Mike understands
the importance to clients of tailored solutions that meet their unique situations, and his knowledge spans a wide range of asset classes, from traditional to alternative, including real estate, infrastructure, private loans, private equity and hedge strategies. Mike’s business passions include helping clients with alternative investing, strategic philanthropy and sourcing expansion and succession capital for their businesses.
Mike is also very active in charitable pursuits. He sits on the Board and Finance Committee of the Ontario Neurotrauma Foundation and has been involved with St. Michael’s Hospital Foundation for over 15 years, where he is currently an active contributor on the President’s Council. Along with his family, Mike has established and funded The Flux Foundation with the goal of driving positive change and social impact in our shared community. The Flux Foundation focuses on funding charitable organizations in health care, poverty alleviation, education and sport. In addition to St. Michael’s Hospital, the Flux family has financially supported SickKids, United Way, the Salvation Army, Queen's University, and the Canadian Olympic Foundation. They also provided key funding to build and establish The McElwain Educational Institute in Sri Lanka in support of the 2004 tsunami relief efforts.
Mike is a CFA charterholder. His other designations and degrees include Certified Financial Planner (CFP); Chartered Investment Manager (CIM); B.Comm. Honors, Queen's University (1995); MBA, Edinburgh Business School (2008).
